Karen Boers

Karen Boers is een impactondernemer en ecosysteembouwer, vooral bekend als medeoprichtster van BeCode, de grootste programmeerschool met maatschappelijke impact van België, en van BeCentral, de digitale campus boven het Centraal Station van Brussel. Via BeCode heeft ze duizenden werkzoekenden en ondervertegenwoordigde talenten geholpen om zich om te scholen tot webontwikkelaars en specialisten op het gebied van AI en cyberbeveiliging, waardoor het digitale talentenaanbod van het land aanzienlijk is uitgebreid. Karen is tevens medeoprichtster van Startups.be en het European Startup Network, en staat momenteel aan het hoofd van FARI – het Brusselse instituut voor AI ten dienste van het algemeen belang –, dat AI en data inzet voor maatschappelijke impact. Ze is opgenomen in de Inspiring Fifty en diverse ranglijsten voor ‘vrouwen in de tech-sector’, en spreekt regelmatig over inclusieve innovatie, sociaal ondernemerschap en duurzame talentontwikkeling.

Karen Boers is an impact entrepreneur and ecosystem builder, best known as co‑founder of BeCode, Belgium’s largest social‑impact coding school, and BeCentral, the digital campus above Brussels Central Station. Through BeCode, she has helped retrain thousands of jobseekers and underrepresented talents into web developers and AI/cybersecurity profiles, dramatically widening the country’s digital talent pool. Karen also co‑founded Startups.be and the European Startup Network, and currently leads FARI – the Brussels AI for the Common Good Institute, putting AI and data to work for societal impact.
